As promised in my previous post, here is the K-Tone Picture Profile for the Sony FS100. Seems o be an appropriate time, since Kodak is on the brink of going chapter 11 – so we have a chance to get the “Everything looks better on Kodachrome” look over to our digital cameras. I was aiming for the Kodachrome 25, that got discontinued in the early 1960s.

Expose 1-2 stops under and dial in WB manualy, by looking at skin tones only.
If you got the skin where you want it, all other parameters are fine (for that profile).
If you don´t shoot something with skin, a lot of that parameters is tied to WB and
since this is a “out of the box” profile, that requires no or less grading (depending on your situation),
try to get the look you want (close as possible) by dialing it in with the manual WB.
Here you can download the LTU file,
you can use it with the free LUT-Buddy from RedGiant Software
If you don´t know what a LUT is or how to use it in your workflow – all questions answered here

Oh my goodness! Awesome article dude! Thank you so much, However I am going through difficulties with your RSS. I don’t understand the reason why I cannot subscribe to it. Is there anybody getting similar RSS issues? Anyone that knows the answer will you kindly respond? Thanks!!
It’s difficult to find educated people in this particular topic, however, you sound like you know what you’re talking about! Thanks

The Sony FS100 K-Tone Picture Profile has wonderful color and contrast. It does require a little extra processing time in post (but it’s well worth it).
The only other Picture Profile that I like better for ‘vintage color’ is the Technicolor Profile.
